The Time is at Hand: An Examination of the Greek Word Engys
The Time is at Hand
Revelation 1:1 1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God
gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take
place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant
John,
Revelation 1:3 3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the
words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is
written in it, for the time is near
Revelation 3:11 11 I am coming soon.
Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.
Revelation 22:7 7 “And behold, I am coming
soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of
this book.”
Revelation 22:10 10 And he said to me, “Do not seal up the
words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near..
Revelation 22:12 12 “Behold, I am coming
soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what
he has done.
Revelation 22:20 20 He who testifies to these things says,
“Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!

Romans 13:11-12 11 Besides this you know the time, that the
hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now
than when we first believed. 12 The night is far gone; the day is at
hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on
the armor of light.
Philippians 4:5 5 Let your reasonableness be known to
everyone. The Lord is at hand;
Hebrews 10:37 37 For, “Yet a little while, and the
coming one will come and will not delay;
James 5:8 8 You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for
the coming of the Lord is at hand.
1 Peter 4:7 7 The end of all things is at hand;
therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers.
1 John 2:18 18 Children, it is the last
hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now
many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.

Matthew 26:18 18 He said, “Go into the city to a certain man
and say to him, ‘The Teacher says, My time is at
hand. I will keep the Passover at your house with my
disciples.’”
John 7:2 2 Now the Jews' Feast of Booths was at hand.
NOTE: In
Revelation, we see that John uses the Greek word Eggys for “soon/coming near/time is at hand”.
In Matthew 26:18 and John 7:2, we see the Greek word Eggys. If Matthew and John
uses the Greek word Eggys for events that are relatively short in time, why would the word be used differently in the Book of Revelation. What is
the basis and purpose of this change? We are trying to be consistent right and academically honest?
NOTE: If the end times is still far future (21st
Century and Beyond), then Paul, James, Peter, and John have ironically become
the false prophets that Jesus warned us about in Luke 21:8.
Luke 21:8 8 And he said, “See that you are not led astray.
For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and, ‘The time is at
hand!’ Do not go after them.
