Symbolic Names Don't Define Deity

Symbolic Names Don't Define Deity  Isaiah 7:14 English Standard Version 14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Parallel in Matthew 1:23.  NOTE: The name can be translated as, “God with us” or “God is with us.” It is true that God was with the Jews and Gentiles in Jesus, and Jesus himself said that if one had seen him, he had seen the Father. See John 14:9. In addition, this is a symbolic name. See 2 Corinthians 5:19 (NASB). We have to be careful. It says GOD WAS IN CHRIST, NOT GOD WAS CHRIST. Other symbolic names include Elijah: My God is Yahweh; Peter: The Rock; Bithiah: Daughter of Yahweh; Dibri: The Word, Speech, Pronunciation; Eliab: God is my Father. These names doesn't make these people God or a M...

Matthew 25 and 1 Samuel 25-70AD Connection

Matthew 25 and 1 Samuel 25-70AD connection Have you ever noticed 1 Samuel 25 and Matthew 25 share similar imagery? In 1 Samuel 25 we see David get into a heated confrontation with Nabal (Laban spelled backwards). Nabal's name means Fool in Hebrew. After the confrontation, Nabal gets drunk at his party. The next morning, judgment comes and he dies. David then takes the widow, Abigail, and makes her his own wife. Notice, that Abigail was accompanied by five young women when David came with his Messengers. Likewise, in Matthew 25, the Parable of the 10 Virgins, five of them were foolish and five were wise. The five wise virgins were prepared for the return of the bridegroom while the five foolish virgins missed His visitation.  Now, Jesus, the greater David, came with his army to marry the Church in 70AD (Abigail/Five wise virgins). The foolish (Nabal), Old Covenant Temple system in 70AD drank the wrath of God and died. 1 Samuel 25:42 And Abigail hurried and rose and mounted a d...
