Deuteronomy 6:4 English Standard Version 4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, THE LORD IS ONE.
NOTE: See also Mark 12:28-34. The Hebrew word is Echad. Echad can be used for absolute oneness and a collective one. Only the noun is modified, not the actual number one. Also, God is always described in singular pronouns and verbs, never in plural. It says ONE, not ONE IN THREE PERSONS. Echad is used in absolute oneness in Exodus 9:7, 2 Samuel 13:30, 2 Samuel 17:12, and Ecclesiastes 4:8. Plurality is due to the majestic nature of God.
Deuteronomy 18:15,18 English Standard Version 15 “The Lord your God will RAISE UP FOR YOU A PROPHET LIKE ME FROM AMONG YOU, FROM YOUR BROTHERS—it is to him you shall listen…18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I WILL PUT MY WORDS IN HIS MOUTH, and HE shall speak to them all that I command HIM.
NOTE: This does not support a pre-existence of Jesus. Moses says that Jesus is a prophet just like him-AMONG BROTHERS. God gave Jesus HIS WORDS. NOT OUR WORDS-referring to a Trinity. NOT JESUS' OWN WORDS. THE FATHER'S WORDS.
Matthew 3:17 English Standard Version 17 and behold, a voice from heaven said, “THIS IS MY BELOVED SON, with whom I am well pleased.”
NOTE: A Son and Father cannot be the same. See also 2 Peter 1:17 and Genesis 5:3.
Matthew 4:1 English Standard Version 4 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be TEMPTED BY THE DEVIL.
James 1:13 English Standard Version 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for GOD CANNOT BE TEMPTED WITH EVIL, and he himself tempts no one.
NOTE: God cannot be tempted by Satan/Devil. Only a human can be tempted.
Matthew 12:28 English Standard Version 28 But if it is by THE SPIRIT OF GOD that I cast out demons, then THE KINGDOM OF GOD has come upon you.
NOTE: He says "Spirit Of God" and "Kingdom of God." NOT "by my/our Spirit" that I cast out demons. Also, he DID NOT SAY "my/our kingdom has come upon you."
Matthew 19:4 English Standard Version 4 He answered, “Have you not read that HE WHO CREATED THEM from the beginning made them male and female
NOTE: Jesus claimed the Father was the creator, not him. Also, notice the singular pronouns for God. He created them (Adam and Eve), NOT WE CREATED THEM.
Matthew 19:17 English Standard Version 17 And he said to him, “Why do you ask me about what is good? THERE IS ONLY ONE WHO IS GOOD. If you would enter life, keep the commandments.”
NOTE: This excludes Jesus. He is not saying "It is really me that is good. I'm God." Wink, wink. Jesus is not some kind of trickster as some may treat him as such.
Matthew 20:23 English Standard Version 23 He said to them, “You will drink my cup, but to sit at my right hand and at my left IS NOT MINE TO GRANT, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by my Father.”
NOTE: Jesus did not have the authority to assign seating arrangements in Heaven.
Matthew 24:36 English Standard Version 36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, NOR THE SON, but the Father only.
NOTE: Jesus did not know the hour. He is lacking knowledge. The Holy Spirit is not even mentioned in this text. How does the angels take precedence over the Holy Spirit?
Matthew 26:39 English Standard Version 39 And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “MY FATHER, IF IT BE POSSIBLE, LET THIS CUP PASS from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.”
NOTE: Jesus asking the Father to pass this cup. If He's God and co-equal why does he need permission from the Father? Unless the Father is superior to him.
Matthew 28:18 English Standard Version 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “ALL AUTHORITY IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH HAS BEEN GIVEN TO ME
NOTE: If Jesus is God, how can he give himself something that he was lacking in the first place? How can Jesus be the giver and the receiver at the same time?! See also John 5:22.
Ephesians 1:3 English Standard Version 3 Blessed be THE GOD AND FATHER of OUR Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places
NOTE: A careful reading is showing that the Father is the one who is being blessed and using Christ to bless us in this text.
Ephesians 1:17 English Standard Version 17 that THE GOD of OUR Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him
NOTE: The Father gives you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation OF him. Not Jesus.
Ephesians 3:14 English Standard Version 14 For this reason I bow my knees BEFORE THE FATHER
NOTE: Bowing is mentioned to the Father. The Father is superior to the Son.
Ephesians 4:6 English Standard Version 6 ONE GOD AND FATHER of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
NOTE: God and Father. We never see God and Son paired together.
Ephesians 5:20 English Standard Version 20 giving thanks always and for everything to GOD THE FATHER in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
NOTE: We NEVER see God the Son. Jesus is ALWAYS called the Lord and Christ. NEVER God.
1 Corinthians 3:22-23 English Standard Version 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, 23 AND YOU ARE CHRIST'S, AND CHRIST IS GOD'S.
NOTE: We are subordinate to Christ and Christ is subordinate to the Father. This is the exalted/glorified Christ.
1 Corinthians 11:3 English Standard Version 3 But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and THE HEAD OF CHRIST IS GOD.
NOTE: God is the source/origin of Christ just like Eve is the source/origin of Adam. However, if you say Adam is superior to Eve, then to be consistent, you have to say that the Father is superior to Christ.
1 John 4:14 English Standard Version 14 And we have seen and testify that THE FATHER HAS SENT HIS SON TO BE THE SAVIOR OF THE WORLD.
NOTE: To be sent doesn't mean pre-existence from Heaven. See also John 1:6, 3:17, 16:21, 28, 17:14, 17:18, 20:21; Mark 16:15;2 John 1:7;1 John 4:1, 9; Galatians 4:4.
Acts 2:22-24 English Standard Version 22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, A MAN attested to you BY GOD with mighty works and wonders and signs that GOD did through HIM (JESUS) in your midst, as you yourselves know— 23 this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge OF GOD, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. 24 GOD RAISED HIM UP, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it.
NOTE: Jesus is a man exalted by God. Not a God-Man-the term is not even in the Bible. See also Acts 2:32, 5:30-31, and Romans 10:9 for his resurrection. See John 8:39-40, 11:50; Luke 24:19; Acts 17:31; Romans 5:15; 1 Timothy 2:5; 1 Corinthians 15:21 for Jesus as a man.
Acts 2:32 English Standard Version 32 This Jesus GOD RAISED UP, and of that we all are witnesses.
NOTE: God raised up Jesus. See also Acts 2:22-24, 5:30-31, and Romans 10:9.
Acts 2:36 English Standard Version 36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made HIM both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
NOTE: God made Jesus into Lord and Christ, NOT GOD!!!
Acts 5:30-31 English Standard Version 30 THE GOD OF OUR FATHERS RAISED Jesus, whom you killed by hanging him on a tree. 31 GOD EXALTED HIM at his right hand AS LEADER AND SAVIOR, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.
NOTE: God appointed Jesus as a Leader and Savior, NOT GOD!!! How can he be God and at the right hand of God at the same time?
Acts 10:38 English Standard Version 38 HOW GOD ANOINTED Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil
NOTE: How can God be the anointer and the anointed at the same time?
Acts 10:42 English Standard Version 42 And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that HE IS THE ONE APPOINTED BY GOD to be judge of the living and the dead.
NOTE: How can God be the appointer and the appointed at the same time?
Acts 13:22-23 English Standard Version 22 And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, ‘I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’ 23 Of this MAN'S offspring GOD HAS BROUGHT TO ISRAEL A SAVIOR, Jesus, as he promised.
NOTE: Jesus-David's offspring is a savior. Not God himself. See Galatians 4:4. God uses singular pronouns.
Acts 17:3 English Standard Version 3 explaining and proving that it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus, whom I proclaim to you, IS THE CHRIST.”
NOTE: Jesus is the Christ. Not God.
Acts 17:31 English Standard Version 31 because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by A MAN whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.
NOTE: Notice the singular pronouns. He, not us. If translators didn't want to confuse the Trinity with a uni-personal God, they surely did an awful job. The exalted/gloried Jesus is still a MAN. See also Acts 2:22; John 8:39-40, 11:50; Luke 24:19; Romans 5:15; 1 Timothy 2:5; 1 Corinthians 15:21.
Acts 22:8 English Standard Version 8 And I answered, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ And he said to me, ‘I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting.’
NOTE: Jesus never identifies himself as God or Yahweh.
Luke 2:52 English Standard Version 52 And JESUS INCREASED IN WISDOM and in stature and in favor with God and man
NOTE: If Jesus was God, how can he increase in wisdom and in favor within himself? If he is lacking anything, he is not God.
Luke 6:12 English Standard Version 12 In these days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer TO GOD.
NOTE: How can Jesus pray to himself?
Luke 11:2 English Standard Version 2 And he said to them, “When you pray, say: “Father, hallowed be YOUR name. YOUR kingdom come.
NOTE: The Father's name is hallowed. He is superior to the Son and Spirit. No mention of the Son's name and Holy Spirit's name. Again, look at the singular pronouns. Your name, not OUR name. Your kingdom come, not OUR kingdom come.
1 Corinthians 8:5-6 English Standard Version 5 For although there may be so-called gods in heaven or on earth—as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”—6 yet for us there is ONE God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and ONE Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.
NOTE: There is ONE GOD and ONE Lord. They are NOT the same person. The phrase "through whom are all things and through whom we exist' is an example of translator bias. It should be rendered as " through whom all the New Covenant events came to be and through Jesus, spirit-filled believers came to be (brought forth) as children of God."
1 Corinthians 15:21 English Standard Version 21 For as by a man came death, by A MAN has come also the resurrection of the dead.
NOTE: Christ is the Second Adam. Adam is not a supernatural entity, so why do we change it up when Jesus is his comparison? See John 8:39-40, 11:50; Luke 24:19; Acts 17:31; Acts 2:22; 1 Timothy 2:5; Romans 5:15.
1 Corinthians 15:24 English Standard Version 24 Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power.
NOTE: Jesus gives God the Father the Kingdom. How can he be the giver and receiver at the same time? Doesn't that mean Jesus is a subordinate to the Father?
1 Corinthians 15:27-28 English Standard Version 27 For “GOD has put all things in subjection under HIS feet.” But when it says, “all things are put in subjection,” it is plain that HE is excepted who put all things in subjection under HIM. 28 When all things are subjected to HIM then the Son himself will also be subjected to HIM who put all things in subjection under HIM, that God may be all in all.
NOTE: Jesus gives God the Father the Kingdom. How can he be the giver and receiver at the same time? Doesn't that mean Jesus is a subordinate to the Father?
1 Corinthians 15:57 English Standard Version 57 But thanks be TO GOD, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
NOTE: The Father is God and Jesus is Lord/Christ. See also Acts 2:36, 1 Corinthians 8:6, 2 Corinthians 1:2-3, 2 Corinthians 11:31, Mark 16:19.
2 Corinthians 1:2-3 English Standard Version 2 Grace to you and peace from God OUR Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed be the God and Father of OUR Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort
NOTE: The Father is God and Jesus is Lord/Christ. See also Acts 2:36, 1 Corinthians 8:6, 2 Corinthians 11:31, Mark 16:19.
2 Corinthians 4:4 English Standard Version 4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of GOD.
NOTE: If Jesus is God-the image of God, in order to be consistent, then Seth is really Adam-the image of Adam. See Genesis 5:3.
2 Corinthians 5:18 English Standard Version 18 All this is FROM GOD, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.
NOTE: The Father is God and Jesus is Lord/Christ.
2 Corinthians 11:31 English Standard Version 31 The GOD AND FATHER OF THE Lord Jesus, he who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying.
NOTE: The Father is God and Jesus is Lord/Christ. See also Acts 2:36, 1 Corinthians 8:6, 2 Corinthians 1:2-3, Mark 16:19.
2 Corinthians 13:4 English Standard Version 4 For he was crucified in weakness, but LIVES BY THE POWER OF GOD. For we also are weak in him, but in dealing with you we will live with him BY THE POWER OF GOD.
NOTE: Jesus was successful due to the POWER OF GOD. Not any power he had. Therefore, he is not God.
Mark 13:32 English Standard Version 32 “But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but ONLY THE FATHER.
NOTE: Jesus is not omniscience. He is lacking knowledge. The angels are mentioned over the Holy Spirit. The Father is the ONLY revealer. If the Father can withhold knowledge from the Son and the Holy Spirit, why isn't he considered superior to them?
Mark 16:19 English Standard Version 19 So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD.
NOTE: The Father is God and Jesus is Lord/Christ. To sit in the right hand means someone else is sitting in the center and the left side.
John 1:18 English Standard Version 18 No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is AT THE FATHER'S SIDE, he has made him known.
NOTE: This is a mistranslation. Otherwise, this text will contradict itself. Because there are various translations on this verse, it shouldn't be used to support the Trinity. See KJV, NKJV, YLT, ASV, DRB, ERV, GWT, MSB, NHEB, WBT, WNT, and WEB. Alternatively, Jesus can be called God in a similar function as a representative. See Exodus 4:16,7:1; Psalm 82:6. Psalm 45:6-7.
John 4:23 English Standard Version 23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers WILL WORSHIP THE FATHER in spirit and truth, for the FATHER is seeking such people to WORSHIP HIM.
NOTE: The Father is seeking people for worship. No mention of Jesus or the Holy Spirit. Only singular pronouns are used, not plural.
John 5:19-20 English Standard Version 19 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, THE SON CAN DO NOTHING OF HIS OWN ACCORD, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so that you may marvel.
NOTE: Jesus is subordinate to the Father. See Deuteronomy 18:15-18, John 5:30.
John 5:22 English Standard Version 22 For THE FATHER judges no one, but has given all judgment to THE SON,
NOTE: How can Jesus be the giver and receiver at the same time? Doesn't that mean Jesus is a subordinate to the Father? See Matthew 28:18.
John 5:26-27 English Standard Version 26 For as THE FATHER has life in himself, so HE HAS GRANTED THE SON also to have life in himself. 27 And HE HAS GIVEN HIM AUTHORITY to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man
NOTE: The Father grants eternal life to the Son. How can Jesus be the giver and receiver at the same time? Doesn't that mean Jesus is a subordinate to the Father?
John 5:30 English Standard Version 30 “I CAN DO NOTHING ON MY OWN. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I SEEK NOT MY OWN WILL BUT THE WILL OF HIM WHO SENT ME.
NOTE: Jesus is subordinate to the Father. See Deuteronomy 18:15-18, John 3:34, 5:19-20.
John 5:36 English Standard Version 36 But the testimony that I have is greater than that of John. FOR THE WORKS THAT THE FATHER HAS GIVEN ME TO ACCOMPLISH, the very works that I am doing, BEAR WITNESS ABOUT ME THAT THE FATHER HAS SENT ME.
NOTE: How can Jesus be the giver and receiver at the same time? Doesn't that mean Jesus is a subordinate to the Father? If they are co-equal why do we never see the Father submit to the Son or the Spirit? Or the Father being sent by the Son or the Spirit?
John 6:38 English Standard Version 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the WILL OF HIM WHO SENT ME.
NOTE: This can easily be confused for a pre-existence passage. However, when we look at its usage in 1 John 4:6, John 3:31-36, 8:23, 8:47 (not born again yet), John 15:19. 17:6, 17:14
John 6:57 English Standard Version 57 As the living Father sent me, and I LIVE BECAUSE OF THE FATHER, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me.
NOTE: The Father gives Jesus eternal life. We never see the Father in submission to the Son. See John 5:26-27.
John 7:16-17 English Standard Version 16 So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but HIS WHO SENT ME. 17 If anyone's will is to do GOD'S WILL, he will know whether the teaching is FROM GOD or whether I am speaking on my own authority.
NOTE: Jesus' teaching belongs to the Father. See Deuteronomy 18:15-18, John 3:34, 5:19-20. 5:30, 36.
John 7:28 English Standard Version 28 So Jesus proclaimed, as he taught in the temple, “You know me, and you know where I come from. But I have not come of my own accord. He who sent me is true, and him you do not know.
NOTE: Jesus said they know him, but NOT the Father. See John 6:57
John 8:16-18 English Standard Version 16 Yet even if I do judge, my judgment is true, for it is not I alone who judge, BUT I AND THE FATHER WHO SENT ME. 17 In your Law it is written that the testimony of two people is true. 18 I am the one who bears witness About Myself, and THE FATHER WHO SENT ME BEARS WITNESS ABOUT ME.18 I am the one who bears witness about myself, and the Father who sent me bears witness about me.
NOTE: Jesus and the Father are considered two separate witnesses, not one.
John 8:28-29 English Standard Version 28 So Jesus said to them, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and that I DO NOTHING ON MY OWN AUTHORITY, but speak just as the Father taught me. 29 And he who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to him.”
NOTE: Jesus is granted authority from the Father. " I am he." The "he" is not in the Greek. "I am" is translated as ego eimi. Other humans use it as self-identification. See John 9:8-9, 2 Samuel 2:20, Acts 26:29. It is not the complete divine name of Yahweh found in Exodus 3. Jesus is saying He is the Messiah/The Prophesied One.
John 8:42 English Standard Version 42 Jesus said to them, “IF GOD WERE YOUR FATHER, you would love me, for I came from God and I am here. I came not of my own accord, but he sent me
NOTE: John the Baptist came from God as well. See John 1:6. This is not an argument for Jesus' pre-existence. Jesus and God the Father are distinct from each other.
John 8:49-50 English Standard Version 49 Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon, but I HONOR MY FATHER, and you dishonor me. 50 Yet I DO NOT SEEK MY OWN GLORY; there is One who seeks it, and he is the judge.
NOTE: How can Jesus be the giver and receiver at the same time? Doesn't that mean Jesus is a subordinate to the Father? The Father gives Jesus His glory. See John 8:54.
John 8:54 English Standard Version 54 Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’
NOTE: Jesus does not seek his own glory. Only the Father gives him glory. Doesn't that mean Jesus is a subordinate to the Father? See John 8:49-50.
John 10:25 English Standard Version 25 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I DO IN MY FATHER'S NAME bear witness about me.
NOTE: We never see the Father bear witness to the Son's name or the Spirit's name. Only the Son bears witness to the Father's name. Doesn't that mean Jesus is a subordinate to the Father?
John 10:29 English Standard Version 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is GREATER THAN ALL, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.
NOTE: This is a declaration that the Father is greater than the Son. The Spirit is implied. See also John 14:28.
John 10:34-36 English Standard Version 34 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said, you are gods’? 35 If he called them gods to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be broken— 36 do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I AM THE SON OF GOD’?
NOTE: Jesus is calling himself the Son of God, not God the Son. For example, in Genesis 5:3, is Seth really Adam-the image of Adam? Alternatively, Jesus can be called God in a similar function as a representative. See Exodus 4:16,7:1; Psalm 82:6. Psalm 45:6-7.
John 11:41-42 English Standard Version 41 So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that you sent me.”
NOTE: John the Baptist came from God as well. See John 1:6 and Galatians 4:4. This is not an argument for Jesus' pre-existence.
John 12:49-50 English Standard Version 49 For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment—what to say and what to speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say AS THE FATHER HAS TOLD ME
NOTE: God the Father gives Jesus authority. So can the alleged Trinity have authority and no authority at the same time? What about the Spirit? Does he have authority?
John 13:3 English Standard Version 3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going back to God
NOTE: The word "back" and "return" is not in the Greek. The BLB, KJV, NKJV, ASV, ABPE, DRB, ERV, GNT, LSV, NRSV, NHEB, WBT, WNT, WEB, and YLT supports this in their translations. These translations are focusing on Christ's ascension, not a so-called pre-existence.
John 14:1 English Standard Version I Am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life 14 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; BELIEVE ALSO IN ME.
NOTE: Jesus and God are two separate entities, NOT ONE. No hint of plurality.
John 14:10 English Standard Version 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I DO NOT SPEAK ON MY OWN AUTHORITY, but the Father who dwells in me does his works.
NOTE: See 1 John 4:15, John 17:20-21. This verse doesn't support the Trinity. The Father and Son are one in will and purpose.
2 Corinthians 3:17 English Standard Version 17 Now THE LORD IS THE SPIRIT, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
NOTE: The Son and Spirit are united in will and purpose. Otherwise, this would be modalism. When Jesus got exalted by the Father, he shares authority over the Holy Spirit. See 1 John 4:15, John 17:20-21.
John 14:28 English Standard Version 28 You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is GREATER than I.
NOTE: This is a declaration that the Father is greater than the Son. The Spirit is implied. See also John 10:29.
John 15:10 English Standard Version 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept MY FATHER'S COMMANDMENTS and abide in his love.
NOTE: Jesus' commandments come from the Father. Not his own. See Deuteronomy 18:15-18, John 3:34, 5:19-20, 30.
John 16:23 English Standard Version 23 In that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of THE FATHER IN MY NAME, HE WILL GIVE IT TO YOU
NOTE: The Father has the authority to answer prayer.
John 17:3 English Standard Version 3 And this is eternal life, that they know you, the ONLY TRUE GOD, AND Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
NOTE: The Father is the TRUE God. Jesus is the Christ, not God. They are distinctly different.
John 17:5 English Standard Version 5 And now, Father, GLORIFY ME IN YOUR OWN PRESENCE WITH THE GLORY that I had with you before the world existed.
NOTE: The Father is going to glorify Jesus at his ascension. Jesus lacked this glory. If he is God, how does he even lack anything? The Greek word for "HAD" can also be translated as "HAVE." "THE WORLD EXISTED" can be also translated as "glorify me in front of the Spirit filled New Covenant believers."
John 17:21 English Standard Version 21 that THEY MAY ALL BE ONE, JUST AS YOU, FATHER, ARE IN ME, AND I IN YOU, THAT THEY ALSO MAY BE IN US, so that the world may believe that you have sent me
NOTE: See 1 John 4:15, John 17:20-21. This verse doesn't support the Trinity. The Father and Son are one in will and purpose. Otherwise, the believers would be infused into the Trinity.
John 20:17 English Standard Version 17 Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, TO MY GOD AND YOUR GOD.’
NOTE: The resurrected Jesus still acknowledges the Father as his God.
1 Timothy 1:17 English Standard Version 17 To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, THE ONLY GOD, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
NOTE: There is an emphasis on God being the ONLY God. If the Trinity was correct, this would have been a great opportunity to unpack it here.
1 Timothy 2:5 English Standard Version 5 For there is ONE GOD, and there is ONE mediator between God and men, THE MAN Christ Jesus.
NOTE: The exalted and glorified Jesus is called A MAN and Christ, not God. There is no mention of the Spirit. There is an emphasis on God being in ABSOLUTE ONENESS. The word one should not be used differently in this verse. One mediator is just one, not three. No mention of persons. See also 1 Corinthians 8:5-6 and Galatians 3:20.
1 Timothy 6:14-16 English Standard Version 14 to keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,15 which he will display at the proper time—he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.
NOTE: The exalted and glorified Jesus is called Lord and Christ, not God. Jesus received immortality from God. See 1 Timothy 1:17; John 5:26-27, 6:57; Romans 6:10.
Colossians 1:15 English Standard Version 15 He IS THE IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE GOD, the firstborn of all creation.
NOTE: If Jesus is God-the image of God, then Seth is really Adam-the image of Adam. See Genesis 5:3.
Colossians 1:19 English Standard Version 19 For in him (Jesus) all the fullness of GOD (THE FATHER) was pleased to dwell
NOTE: The Father was dwelling in Jesus. Jesus' flesh is God the Father's Temple. See Malachi 3:1, 1 John 4:15, John 2:21, 17:20-21. This verse doesn't support the Trinity. The Father and Son are one in will and purpose.
Philippians 2:8-9 English Standard Version 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself BY BECOMING OBEDIENT TO THE POINT OF DEATH, even death on a cross.9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name.
NOTE: God cannot die. See 1 Timothy 6:16.
Philippians 2:11 English Standard Version 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of GOD THE FATHER.
NOTE: The Father is greater than the Son. See also John 14:28. The Son receives the Father's glory. Jesus is called Christ and Lord, not God.
Philippians 4:20 English Standard Version 20 To OUR GOD AND FATHER be glory forever and ever. Amen.
NOTE: The God and Father are associated together. We never see "our God and Son" or "our God and Spirit."
Romans 1:7 English Standard Version 7 To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God OUR Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
NOTE: The God and Father are associated together. Jesus is called Lord and Christ, not God.
Romans 2:16 English Standard Version 16 on that day when, according to my gospel, GOD JUDGES THE SECRETS OF MEN BY CHRIST JESUS.
NOTE: God uses Jesus to judge mankind. They are two distinct beings.
Romans 5:15 English Standard Version 15 But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man's trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one MAN Jesus Christ abounded for many.
NOTE: Jesus is a man exalted by God. Not a God-Man-the term is not even in the Bible. See John 8:39-40, 11:50; Luke 24:19; Acts 17:31; Acts 2:22; 1 Timothy 2:5; 1 Corinthians 15:21; Romans 5:15 for Jesus as a man.
Romans 6:10 English Standard Version 10 For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives HE LIVES TO GOD.
NOTE: God the Father gave Jesus eternal life. They are two distinct beings. See 1 Timothy 1:17, 6:14-16; John 5:26-27, 6:57.
Romans 7:25 English Standard Version 25 Thanks be to GOD through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.
NOTE: God the Father was working through Jesus. Jesus is the Christ and Lord, not God.
Romans 8:29 English Standard Version 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
NOTE: The image represents the original being. It is not the actual being. Seth is not Adam. See Genesis 5:3.
Romans 8:34 English Standard Version 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.
NOTE: Jesus is Christ, not God. How can he be God and at the right hand of God at the same time?
Romans 10:9-10 English Standard Version 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that GOD RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
NOTE: Jesus is Lord and was raised by God.
Romans 15:5-6 English Standard Version 5 May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, 6 that together you may with one voice glorify the GOD AND FATHER OF OUR Lord Jesus Christ.
NOTE: God and Jesus are considered two separate entities. Jesus is only called Lord and Christ, not God.
Romans 16:27 English Standard Version 27 TO THE ONLY WISE GOD be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen.
NOTE: God and Jesus are considered two separate entities. Jesus is only called Lord and Christ, not God.
Titus 3:4-6 English Standard Version 4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly THROUGH Jesus Christ our Savior.
NOTE: God the Father is already called savior in Titus 1:13 and 2:10. He is the source of salvation (He made the plan) while the Son accomplished the plan of salvation. It doesn't mean that Jesus is God. They both can be saviors. We got to be careful not to conflate the two-that would be a false equivalence fallacy.
Galatians 1:3 English Standard Version 3 Grace to you and peace from GOD OUR FATHER and the Lord Jesus Christ
NOTE: God and Jesus are considered two separate entities. Jesus is only called Lord and Christ, not God.
Galatians 3:20 English Standard Version 20 Now an intermediary implies more than ONE, but God is ONE
NOTE: The first phrase is alluding to more than one mediator, but then it contrasts itself with ONE God. Not three mediators or three persons in one. See also 1 Corinthians 8:5-6, 1 Timothy 2:5.
Galatians 4:4 English Standard Version 4 But when the fullness of time had come, GOD SENT FORTH HIS SON, BORN OF WOMAN, BORN UNDER THE LAW
NOTE: Jesus was born. He didn't have a pre-existence in Heaven.
Hebrews 1:2 English Standard Version 2 BUT IN THESE LAST DAYS HE HAS SPOKEN TO US BY HIS SON, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
NOTE: Jesus was born. He didn't have a pre-existence in Heaven.
Hebrews 2:9 English Standard Version 9 But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
NOTE: If Jesus was God, this couldn't be true.
Hebrews 2:17 English Standard Version 17 Therefore he had to BE MADE LIKE HIS BROTHERS IN EVERY RESPECT, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
NOTE: Jesus was made in EVERY respect, not SOME respect. No mention of divinity.
Hebrews 3:1 English Standard Version 3 Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, CONSIDER JESUS, THE APOSTLE AND HIGH PRIEST OF OUR CONFESSION.
NOTE: Jesus is not called God here.
Hebrews 3:3 English Standard Version 3 For JESUS has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself.
NOTE: Moses and Jesus are compared to each other. This is similar to Deuteronomy 18:15-22. No mention of Jesus being God. He has the Father's glory.
Hebrews 4:15 English Standard Version 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but ONE WHO IN EVERY RESPECT has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
NOTE: Jesus was made in EVERY respect, not SOME respect. No mention of divinity.
Hebrews 5:5 English Standard Version 5 So also CHRIST DID NOT EXALT HIMSELF to be made a high priest, BUT WAS APPOINTED BY HIM who said to him, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”
NOTE: If Jesus was God, he would have exalted himself in his deity, but not in his flesh according to Trinitarians. However, this is not what the text is saying and it would be incoherent at best. How can Jesus be the giver and receiver at the same time? Doesn't that mean Jesus is a subordinate to the Father?
Hebrews 5:8 English Standard Version 8 Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered.
NOTE: If Jesus was lacking anything including experiential knowledge, he isn't God.
1 Thessalonians 1:3-4 English Standard Version 3 remembering before OUR GOD AND FATHER your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 For we know, brothers loved BY GOD, that he has chosen you.

1 Thessalonians 3:11-13 English Standard Version 11 Now may OUR GOD AND FATHER HIMSELF, and our Lord Jesus, direct our way to you, 12 and may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you, 13 so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before OUR GOD AND FATHER, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.
NOTE: God and Jesus are considered two separate entities. Jesus is only called Lord and Christ, not God. Notice the singular pronouns and lack of plurality. There is no mention of the Trinity.
Revelation 1:1 English Standard Version 1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, WHICH GOD GAVE HIM to show to his (Jesus’) servants the things that must soon take place. He (Jesus) made it known by sending his angel to his servant John.
NOTE: God gave Jesus the prophecy to give to his angel. In turn, the angel spoke to John. The exalted/glorified Jesus has a God. The Father is still greater than the Son.

Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of MY GOD, and the name of the city of MY GOD , the new Jerusalem, which comes down from MY GOD out of heaven, and my own new name.
NOTE: The exalted/glorified Jesus has a God. No plural pronouns to justify the Trinity. The Father is still greater than the Son.
Revelation 3:14 English Standard Version 14 “And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, THE BEGINNING OF GOD'S CREATION.
NOTE: Jesus is the God the Father's New Covenant Creation. Not MY CREATION OR OUR CREATION. Jesus and Holy Spirit are NOT the creator. See also Matthew 19:4.
Revelation 3:21 English Standard Version 21 The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with MY FATHER ON HIS THRONE.
NOTE: The exalted/glorified Jesus has a God. Not our throne, HIS THRONE.
