Angels of Children and Peter
Angels of Children and Peter
Matthew 18:10 English Standard Version 10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.
Hebrews 1:14 English Standard Version 14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?
1 Kings 19:5-6 English Standard Version 5 And he lay down and slept under a broom tree. And behold, an angel touched him and said to him, “Arise and eat.” 6 And he looked, and behold, there was at his head a cake baked on hot stones and a jar of water. And he ate and drank and lay down again.
Luke 22:43 English Standard Version 43 And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him
NOTE: What Jesus is saying is that little children are highly favor to God the Father-they have top priority. According to Revelation 5:8 and 8:4, it may appear that angels bring prayers from children straight to God's throne instead of the natural process through the altar. See also Psalm 141:2 and Luke 1:10. These angels are ministering to the saints. There is no biblical evidence for a guardian angel or group of guardian angels watching over one person.
Acts 12:13-17 English Standard Version 13 And when he knocked at the door of the gateway, a servant girl named Rhoda came to answer. 14 Recognizing Peter's voice, in her joy she did not open the gate but ran in and reported that Peter was standing at the gate. 15 They said to her, “You are out of your mind.” But she kept insisting that it was so, and they kept saying, “It is his angel!” 16 But Peter continued knocking, and when they opened, they saw him and were amazed. 17 But motioning to them with his hand to be silent, he described to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, “Tell these things to James and to the brothers.” Then he departed and went to another place.
Matthew 11:2-3 King James Version 2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, 3 And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?
Revelation 1:1 English Standard Version 1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,
NOTE: Rhoda thought it was Peter. The people thought it was not possible for Peter to leave prison a 2nd time alive. Perhaps, they thought he was dead already. It is not unusual for a prisoner to send a human messenger to friends or family. In Matthew 11:2-3, John the Baptist sends his disciples to convey a message to Jesus. Alternatively, this can be a supernatural messenger. See Revelation 1:1.
Hebrews 13:2 English Standard Version 2 Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
NOTE: This can be both human and supernatural messengers. This can be a Gentile convert who is a brother/sister in Christ, and not a regular unbeliever because they are a Gentile. See Philemon 1:8-12,15-16 for a slave convert or Judges 19:5-8 for a Levite (in principle). Also, Abraham served angels in Genesis 18:1-15.
1 Peter 1:12 English Standard Version 12 It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look.
Matthew 13:17 English Standard Version 17 For truly, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.
NOTE: This can be both as well. However, I lean towards human messengers due to Matthew 13:17's similar wording for righteous people.
