Death in the New Heavens and Earth

Death in the New Heavens and Earth

God's goal was to redeem/clean his people. It was never God's intention to remove sin. To remove the ability to sin completely is to remove free will and be a robot. He created a way (faith and repentance through Christ His Son) to be declared holy and have a relationship with the Father.

Isaiah 4:3-4 English Standard Version 3 And he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called holy, everyone who has been recorded for life in Jerusalem, 4 when the Lord shall have WASHED AWAY THE FILTH of the daughters of Zion and CLEANSE THE BLOODSTAINS of Jerusalem from its midst by a spirit of judgment and by a spirit of burning.

Revelation 21:1-4 English Standard Version 21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and DEATH SHALL BE NO MORE, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the FORMER THINGS have passed away.”

NOTE: Read Isaiah 42:1-9. "The Former Things" mean the Old Covenant Order. Therefore, the New Covenant Order is the New Heavens and Earth-70AD-The Temple was destroyed. No more death means no more death by persecution from the First Century Jews (The Synagogue of Satan).

Isaiah 65:17-20 English Standard Version 17 “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and THE FORMER THINGS shall not be remembered or come into mind. 18 But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem to be a joy, and her people to be a gladness. 19 I will rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad in my people; no more shall be heard in it the sound of weeping and the cry of distress. 20 No more shall there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who does not fill out his days, for the young man shall DIE a hundred years old, and the sinner a hundred years old shall be accursed.

NOTE: There is death present in the New Heavens and New Earth. People who die have eternal life. When they die, they will receive their glorified body.

Revelation 14:13 English Standard Version 13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are THE DEAD WHO DIE in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!

NOTE: In the New Covenant (70AD), the saint of God goes straight to Heaven with a glorified body in Heaven. They do not wait in Sheol/Hades anymore.

Isaiah 30:19-26 English Standard Version 19 For a people shall dwell in Zion, in Jerusalem; you SHALL WEEP NO MORE. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry. As soon as he hears it, he answers you. 20 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself anymore, but your eyes shall see your Teacher. 21 And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. 22 Then you will defile your CARVED IDOLS overlaid with silver and your gold-plated METAL IMAGES. You will scatter them as unclean things. You will say to them, “Be gone!” 23 And he will give rain for the seed with which you sow the ground, and bread, the produce of the ground, which will be rich and plenteous. In that day your livestock will graze in large pastures, 24 and the oxen and the donkeys that work the ground will eat seasoned fodder, which has been winnowed with shovel and fork. 25 And on every lofty mountain and every high hill there will be brooks running with water, in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall. 26 Moreover, the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day when the Lord binds up the brokenness of his people, and heals the wounds inflicted by his blow.

NOTE: God will destroy his people's enemies.

Isaiah 25:6-8 English Standard Version 6 On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wine, of rich food full of marrow, of aged wine well refined. 7 And he will swallow up on this mountain THE COVERING that is cast over all peoples, THE VEIL that is spread over all nations. 8 He will swallow up DEATH forever; and the Lord God will WIPE AWAY TEARS from all faces, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for the Lord has spoken.

NOTE: The Old Covenant Temple Veil represents Covenant Death-separation of relationship from God. Covenant Death is what Jesus has destroyed on the Cross. It is not physical death because we still die. Jesus restored fellowship between God and man. Compare this to 2 Corinthians 3:7-18 below.

2 Corinthians 3:7-18 Contemporary English Version 7  The Law of Moses brought only the promise of death, even though it was carved on stones and given in a wonderful way. Still the Law made Moses' face shine so brightly the people of Israel could not look at it, even though it was a fading glory. 8 So won't the agreement the Spirit brings to us be even more wonderful? 9 If something that brings the death sentence is glorious, won't something that makes us acceptable to God be even more glorious? 10 In fact, the new agreement is so wonderful that the Law is no longer glorious at all. 11 The Law was given with a glory that faded away. But the glory of the new agreement is much greater, because it will never fade away. 12 This wonderful hope makes us feel like speaking freely. 13  We are not like Moses. His face was shining, but he covered it to keep the people of Israel from seeing the brightness fade away. 14 The people were stubborn, and something still keeps them from seeing the truth when the Law is read. Only Christ can take away the covering that keeps them from seeing. 15 When the Law of Moses is read, they have their minds covered over 16  with a covering that is removed only for those who turn to the Lord. 17 The Lord and the Spirit are one and the same, and the Lord's Spirit sets us free. 18  So our faces are not covered. They show the bright glory of the Lord, as the Lord's Spirit makes us more and more like our glorious Lord.

NOTE: Jesus is not the Holy Spirit. That would be modalism. Jesus is one in purpose with the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 137:1 English Standard Version 1 By the waters of Babylon, there we sat down and WEPT, when we remembered Zion.

NOTE: This can be applied to Revelation, where God's people will not cry anymore due to the Whore of Babylon persecuting them.
