Jesus-The Mighty One of Isaiah 9:6
Jesus-The Mighty One of Isaiah 9:6
Isaiah 9:1-7 English Standard Version 9 But there will be no gloom for her who was in anguish. In the former time he brought into contempt the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the latter time he has made glorious the way of the sea, the land beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations. 2 The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone. 3 You have multiplied the nation; you have increased its joy; they rejoice before you as with joy at the harvest, as they are glad when they divide the spoil. 4 For the yoke of his burden, and the staff for his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, you have broken as on the day of Midian. 5 For every boot of the tramping warrior in battle tumult and every garment rolled in blood will be burned as fuel for the fire. 6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.
Mighty God can be translated as Mighty One (Hebrew: El). See Psalm 29:1, 52:1, 89:6; Ezekiel 31:11, 32:21.
"Everlasting Father" doesn't mean Jesus is God the Father. That would be modalism. The Father can be the originator or founder of something. See below for usage.
Isaiah 22:21 English Standard Version 21 and I will clothe him with your robe, and will bind your sash on him, and will commit your authority to his hand. And he shall be a FATHER to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah.
Genesis 4:17-21 English Standard Version 17 Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. When he built a city, he called the name of the city after the name of his son, Enoch. 18 To Enoch was born Irad, and Irad fathered Mehujael, and Mehujael fathered Methushael, and Methushael fathered Lamech. 19 And Lamech took two wives. The name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah. 20 Adah bore Jabal; he was the FATHER of those who dwell in tents and have livestock. 21 His brother's name was Jubal; he was the FATHER of all those who play the lyre and pipe.
Matthew 23:9 English Standard Version 9 And call no man your FATHER on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.

Isaiah 9:6 New Heart English Bible His dominion will be great, and of peace there shall be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness, from this time onward and forevermore. Isaiah 9:6 JPS Tanakh 1917 For a child is born unto us, A son is given unto us; And the government is upon his shoulder; And his name is called Pele-joez-el-gibbor-Abi-ad-
NOTE: Read the last verse in Isaiah 9:7. It says the Lord of Hosts will do it. Jesus cannot be both. They are distinct from each other. The Hebrew word El can be used for mighty human leaders as well. It is not exclusive to God. In fact, even the Greek doesn't have the word God in it. The word Theos is absent from the Septuagint.
Isaiah 9:6 Rendered version…. and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty One, Father of the Eternal Age to Come, Prince of Peace.
